Hello and welcome to Bookish Brat! This platform is open to conversation about everything that has to do with books, readers, and authors. Find out more about the books you want to read through reviews, listings and by participating in discussions. Indulge in the joys and hardships of reading and writing.
J.D. Salinger once famously wrote in The Catcher in the Rye:
What really knocks me out is a book that, when you’re all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up on the phone whenever you felt like it. That doesn’t happen much, though.”
Even if we can not always befriend the author of the books that make us happy, that make us weep, and most importantly the books that make us think critically, we can have conversations about them. Discourses about books can be extremely cathartic and educational. They enable you to dissect the book layer by layer and learn what the book has to offer from different perspectives.
Our philosophy is that just because a book ends does not imply that conversation around it should end.
